Genova International School of Soccer begins operations in Canada in 2008, under Alberto Corso.
GISS Canada already has three players in Europe: Julian Uccello, 22, signed with Rivarolese serie D(Italy), Johnny D'Amato, signed with prestigious Italian club Vado FC, and Mathew Macri, 18yr old Canadian GISS player, signed with Italian team Vicenza Calcio Serie B. Mathew played with Catanzaro last season, and in July 2008 participated in the GISS Italy 18+ tour, from where he was scouted.

July saw Canada 18+ players join the GISS European tour to train in Europe under top Uefa 'A' licenced coaches including Luciano Miani (UEFA A); Romano Matte (UEFA B), Giorgio Scapini (UEFA B), coach of Verona Calcio; Mauro Zironelli (UEFA B), coach of Vicenza Calcio; and Joe De Martino (FFA AFC B), Head Coach, GISS Australia.
